Very nice close to perfect Leica IIIC to a IIIF conversion complete with lens and box. Very interesting set not only because of the nice serial numbers of the camera and lens but also as 2 tags are included. The camera is a late Leica IIIC from 1950. The first Leica IIIF camera was sold in 1950 with serial number 525001. At a certain point this specific camera was sent back to the factory to do the 1st conversion probably into this IIIF but without self timer. At that moment the camera got the first tag with number 1721 / 518000. The camera still has the features of the early Leica IIIF cameras: black dial flash synchronization scale 0-20 and old style shutter speeds 1/30, 1/40, 1-60 etc. At a later point the camera was sent back again to modify it with a self timer. The 2nd tag shows the number 15222 / 518000. The first numbers on the tag were written on the tag as a kind of service number. The tags are not often included anymore. As said both the camera and the lens have a very nice number. The Leica IIIF got number 518000 and the Leitz 50mm f3.5 Elmar got number 772900. Both camera and lens were produced in 1950 so probably were sold together. Condition of both is really great. Not like new but really close to like new. Some small signs in the chrome finish (mainly on the base plate). Set comes with front lens cap, leather case, manual, 2 tags with matching number of the cameras and box (bit worn).
