Very rare and sought after 9 element Leitz 28mm f2.8 Elmarit lens with black paint stopper made in Wetzlar. Very late out of batch lens. These lenses were made in the following batches: 2061501-2063500 (1964) and 2196901-2198100 (1966). This specific lens with serial number 2258939 from 1968 is from a batch (2258901-2259500) officially assigned for a Focotar lens. Some examples are known but we have never seen them. The lens has a black paint stopper and can also be used on the Leica M5 as the bayonet adapter. Some small signs, mainly from mounting the lens hood, are visible on the barrel. Technically of course in perfect working condition. Red filled engraving and stopper in black paint finish. Very interesting lens. Complete with front and rear lens caps and 12501 lens hood. Don't miss this one. Very interesting and rare lens.
